Personal Summary

Aaron S. Tening is an Associate Professor of Soil Science and particularly Soil Chemistry and Fertility. He is passionate about practical and applied research. He has developed several modules and courses in General Chemistry, Environmental Analytical Chemistry, Soil Science and Materials Science, which are taught across degree programmes ranging from undergraduate to doctoral studies. He has a track record in post graduate research supervision.

He was Chief Scientific Investigator of a Research Grant Award by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna Austria and Co-investigator in the Flemish Inter–University Commission (VLIR) Research Project. He has research collaborations with a number of research establishments including University of Buea, Cameroon, University of Bristol, UK, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, University of Dschang, Cameroon, and Institute for Agricultural Research and Development (IRAD) Ekona, Cameroon. His research findings are widely published in peer reviewed journals and some presented at a number of national and international conferences. He is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Cameroon Academy of Sciences, International Journal of Biological and Chemical Sciences and the International Journal of Agricultural Policy and Research. He is a member of many Scientific Societies and Committees.

His current research explores the soil-water interaction in different ecosystems with special reference to soil mineralogy and fixation capacities in relation to Agriculture and environmental monitoring.
