Alexandre Ndeffo Tene is Associate Professor of Translation Studies and Comparative Literature. He graduated from the prestigious ESIT (Universit\u00e9 de la Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris, France) with a post-graduate degree in Translation in 1993 and defended a PhD in Comparative Literature in the Saarland University (Saarbr\u00fccken, Germany, which is home to one of the oldest departments of Comparative Literature in the world) in 2002 with a pioneering research work on cultural transfer in literary translation with focus on hybrid texts.<\/p>\n

He has been a freelance translator for about twenty years and a translator trainer for the past fifteen years in Germany, Cameroon and Gabon. This long and diversified experience inspired research interest in Translation in Theory and Practice. His publications cover such areas as Translation Sociology, Translator Training and Hermeneutics in Translation.<\/p>\n

He is currently developing his work on translation pedagogy and hermeneutics in translation as well as exploring intercultural communication in a multilingual context and translation in literary production. He is also interested in university governance.<\/p>\n
