HTTTC \u2013 Kumba Graduates First Batch<\/strong>
\nAfter receiving a balanced training in key specialties and pedagogy<\/em>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the students are ready to serve!<\/em><\/p>\n

After two years of intensive training, 397 graduates, christened \u201cReunification Batch\u201d received their certificates in a ceremony that was characterized by jubilation from the Kumba population.\u00a0 The graduation of the pioneer batch of the 2nd cycle of the Higher Technical Teachers\u2019 Training College – Kumba took place recently, in a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Higher Education, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo.<\/p>\n

On arrival in Kumba, the Minister was received by the Kumba population led by the SDO for Meme amidst royal libations. After the hectic reception accorded the Minister, the convoy drove to Mukonje village.\u00a0\u00a0 Here the population witnessed the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of a pedagogic block for the nascent institution, before going to the GTHS, Kumba (SOFATI) campus for the ceremony.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Higher Education lauded the efforts of the people of South West Region and Mukonje in particular for providing a permanent site for the construction of the College.\u00a0 He also expressed gratitude to the Minister of State Property and Land Tenure, the Meme Administration, UB Vice-Chancellor, Nalova Lyonga and Chief Dr. Gabriel Ebanja of Mukonje Village for efforts made towards getting the land for academic purposes.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that HTTTC Kumba, attached to the University of Buea, was created by a Presidential decree of 7 March 2014, following the visit of the Head of State, His Excellency President Paul Biya to Buea on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Cameroon.\u00a0 The College has 14 Departments and its aim is to train talented teachers of technical education.<\/p>\n
