UB Commemorates Commonwealth Day

The University of Buea joined other Commonwealth member states on Wednesday, 11 march 2020 to celebrate the Commonwealth day under the theme “Delivering a common future: connecting, innovating, transforming. The ceremony was presided by the Vice-Chancellor who emphasized that a common future means that all member states should share common values on and goals on issues such as tackling climate change, creating an atmosphere of inclusive economic empowerment for marginalised communities and establishing social and democratic development.
He also added that the University of Buea has benefited many
scholarships, research grants and other donations from the Commonwealth.

At the ceremony, the Commonwealth club of UB presented a fascinating debate in the British parliamentary format, while some academic staff participated in the brillant round table conference on the theme of the day.

The  event was graced by the the UB Choir which performed thought-provoking songs related to the theme of this year’s Commonwealth day.
